Blinkist Review: Is the Book Summary App Worth Your Money?
Can you really master a 300-page finance book in 15 minutes? Here is my honest Blinkist review after using the popular book summary app to digest the classics.
I've been using Blinkist for a few months now, and while the mobile app had a few teething problems early on, I'm pleased to say the bugs seem to have been squashed in the latest release. So, is Blinkist worth it, or is it just another subscription collecting digital dust?
If you haven't heard of it, Blinkist is one of the best book summary apps on the market. It condenses massive non-fiction books into easily digestible 'Blinks' that you can either read or listen to via the built-in audio player. I've found it to be a fantastic shortcut for absorbing the core message of a book in about 15 minutes instead of trudging through a 10-hour read.
All the titles on the platform are non-fiction, and they have a massive catalog of finance book summaries. If you want to build your wealth without falling asleep, you can quickly breeze through classics like:
- The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham
- Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
- The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley
While a 15-minute summary won't give you the deep, nuanced understanding of reading the full text, it is an excellent tool for screening books. If the Blink is brilliant, I buy the physical copy. If it's full of fluff, I've just saved myself 10 hours and the purchase price.
